Vocabulaire :
next to = adjacent to
collaboration = effective collaboration
concentrate on = focus on
conductive to = leaving to
to hamper = to interfere
scrutimity = careful examination
to disrupt = perturber; disruptive= perturbant; disruption= perturbation
inconsiderately = rudely= unpolitely
Countable/Uncountable nouns:
Countable nouns : we can use a, an, few, a few, many, 2, 3...
Uncountable nouns :
a) substances & materials: the oil, the wood, sugar, coffee...
b) abstract ideas: progress, hapiness, hope...
c) languages: french, arabic, japonese...
d) others words: advice, money, information, news, furniture, advertising...
we can use some, much, little, a little...
EX: I've got many books ; I've got some money
I've got few books for you, I can help you ( on utilise few car c'est une conclusion positive )
I've got a few books for you, I can't help you ( on utilise a few car c'est une conclusion négative )
I've got little money left, I can go to the restaurant ( on utilise little car c'est une conclusion positive )
I've got a little money left, I can't go to the restaurant ( on utilise a little car c'est une conclusion négative )
Who, What, Which :
Which/that/who= qui
The company which/that is broken is going to be sold / l'entreprise qui a fait faillite a été vendu
( on utilise which ou that pour un objet ou des ke ce n'est pas une personne)
The girl who is walking is Mary / La fille qui est en train de marcher est Mary
(on utilise who pour une personne)
whom= que
The girl whom I see in the street is Mary / La fille que je vois dans la rue est Mary
( on utilise whom quand ca se rapporte à la 2ème proposition)
For/to whom= pour laquelle
With whom= avec laquelle
Whose= a qui/ dont
Whom will you offer this present to ? / A qui offriras-tu ce cadeau ?
Whose book is it ? A qui est ce sac ?
The person whose name is Brown came to our office this morning ?
