Hello. AnyDVD is not free because they have to pay programmers to constantly update their product to keep up with new encryptions. DVD43 is free because that is the way they disigned it...and you don't get regular updates, so you might have to wait awhile for new code to come out to circumvent the copy protection that AnyDVD is already cracking.So in my opinion AnyDVD is the better program...it's just what you want...or you get what you pay for.
